Timing is Everything

When we are growing up we often have a perception of what life will be like or look like in the future. I imagined all sorts of things for my future life, some were purely practical...some were exceedingly romantic...some were based on those dreams I dared to dream would come true. I can genuinely say that in the past several years this "idea" of what my life might look like has changed a considerable amount. As most of you know, my journey has been quite a roller coaster of life-changing events that have eventually all led to a place of complete surrender to what God wanted my life to look like. It's interesting to me that throughout most of my life I was living for myself, not really ever truly asking God what He wanted my life to look like, what He wanted me to do, where He wanted me to live. At times I believed I asked Him, but often would ultimately do what I  wanted to do. I have discovered, through many trials and difficult times, that the best place to be in, is the place where you let go and let God direct your life for you. I have also learned that in this place of yielding to Him, His will, and His ultimate plan for my life...that AMAZING things happen. His way of doing things is often not the way we would do things and His timing is almost NEVER the same as ours. At this precise time in my life I can confidently say that I know I am doing what the Lord wants me to do with my life, living where He wants me to live, and patiently waiting on Him for whatever He wishes to do next. Never in all my days would I have thought I would be living in the Northern part of England, doing full-time missions, knowing and working with the amazing people I currently have in my life. His timing is perfect, His plan goes beyond our imaginations, and living life His way is so much better than anything I could have ever imagined. So, I am now living my life in anticipation of the wonders that will come because I've chosen God's plan for me and not my own. He is forever faithful!!
